About Me
I am an oncologist/hematologist in the Moffitt Department of Malignant Hematology and Cellular Therapy at Memorial Healthcare System. I care for patients with plasma cell disorders, including monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance, multiple myeloma, AL amyloidosis, POEMS syndrome and Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia.
I earned my medical degree from Universidad Industrial de Santander in Bucaramanga, Colombia, and completed an internal medicine residency at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. I then received specialized training through a hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis and an advanced fellowship in hematologic malignancies at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
Following my training, I was an attending physician in the Department of Medical Oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and a clinical physician in the Department of Hematologic Malignancies at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Before joining Memorial, I was also a clinical physician in the Department of Hematologic Malignancies at Miami Cancer Institute.
In addition to providing patient care, I also participate in clinical research with a focus on multiple myeloma.
