Inspire® Therapy
Experience Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) Relief Without a Mask
Control Your Obstructive Sleep Apnea Without a Mask
Inspire® therapy is a mask-free solution for people with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) who have tried and struggled with CPAP. The easy-to-use system has just three parts:

Inspire implant
The Inspire implant keeps your airway open so you can breathe regularly and sleep soundly.

Inspire remote
The Inspire remote turns on your therapy when you’re ready to sleep. No mask or hose required.

Inspire app
The Inspire app tracks your sleep goals and allows you to share data directly with your doctor.
To be a candidate for Inspire therapy, you must meet the following FDA indications:
- Age 18 or older
- BMI of 40 or less
- Diagnosed with moderate to severe OSA
- Have tried and struggled with CPAP
The Inspire implant works comfortably inside your body to sense when you take a breath. Then, it delivers gentle pulses that move your tongue forward to keep your airway open, helping you breathe regularly and sleep soundly. Simply use the small handheld Inspire remote to turn your therapy on when you’re ready to sleep.
- Schedule a consultation — Meet with an Inspire-trained doctor. They will ask you questions about your OSA and your experiences with CPAP.
- Complete an airway exam — The preop airway evaluation involves examining your airway with a nasal endoscope while under sedation. Most people feel little or no discomfort during the 20-minute procedure, which helps confirm that Inspire therapy is right for you.
- Get the Inspire implant — The 90-minute outpatient surgery includes two incisions — under the chin and under the collarbone — to place the small Inspire implant. After the procedure, most people take over-the-counter pain medication and can resume nonstrenuous activities within a few days.
- Turn on Inspire therapy — The Inspire therapy is activated during a follow-up appointment 30 days after surgery. At that time, your doctor will turn on your Inspire therapy, teach you how to use your Inspire remote and walk you through your step-up plan.
- Complete a follow-up sleep study —The final step in the Inspire therapy process is a follow-up sleep study to verify Inspire therapy is meeting your “sleep better” goals. Once you and your doctor determine the best Inspire therapy settings for you, the process is complete.
