About Me
Dr. Jason E. Portnof, MD, DMD, FACS is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). His interests include oral and maxillofacial surgery with an emphasis on the correction of dentofacial deformities, orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery), maxillofacial reconstructive surgery, corrective jaw surgery (for TMJ), oral and maxillofacial pathology and complex dental implants.
Dr. Portnof has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and presented both nationally and internationally. He also has taught at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Weill Cornell Medical College, Florida Atlantic University and his alma mater, Nova Southeastern University. Currently, he is an Associate Clinical Professor and Director in Pediatric Maxillofacial Surgery and Craniomaxillofacial Surgery at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Portnof is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Florida International University, Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (Department of Surgery). He also is an Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Clinical Biomedical Science (Department of Surgery), Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University.
