Dr. Arthur Palamara joined the staff of Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute in 2012 after practicing vascular surgery in Hollywood for 33 years. His extensive experience includes more than 1,500 carotid endarterectomies and nearly 1,500 open and endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repairs. He has placed 1,000 pacemakers, performed thousands of shunt procedures for dialysis and is an expert in complex leg vascular reconstructions.
Dr. Palamara completed a cardiovascular fellowship at Baylor Methodist Hospital in Houston. He is past president of the South Florida Society of Vascular Surgery, the Florida Vascular Society and the Broward County Medical Association. He was vice president of the Florida Medical Association and is a Florida delegate to the American Medical Association. Dr. Palamara serves as a voluntary Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Miami since 1998. He taught surgical residents with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine from 1998 until the program ended in 2010.
