Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation Receives Grant from Kohl’s Cares For Kids to Promote Awareness and Injury Prevention

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation has received a grant for $14,718 from Kohl’s Care for Kids to create the Kohl’s Gear 4 Safety program to promote awareness and injury prevention among parents and children 14 years old and younger. The grant will support a series of ten community events that will be held throughout Broward County, starting this Sunday, September 13.

The programs will be hosted and organized by Safe Kids Broward, a member organization of Safe Kids Worldwide, a global network whose mission is to prevent accidental childhood injury, a leading killer of children 14 and under. The series is expected to educate about drowning prevention, bike and pedestrian safety, car safety and other topics related to wellbeing throughout the year. In addition, related information will be distributed at community health and safety fairs, as well as Kohl’s stores in Broward County.

When: Sunday, September 13, 11 a.m.
Where: Nova’s A Day for Children, the campus of Nova Southeastern University, at 3100 Ray Ferrero Jr. Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
