Memorial H.E.R.O. (Healthcare Employees Reaching Out)
The Community Volunteer H.E.R.O. Program is designed to match our employees with activities that meet their interests and needs while enabling them to serve the community. H.E.R.O. annually matches more than 2,700 Memorial employees with volunteer opportunities in their neighborhoods.
Employees can volunteer for one of the many signature programs hosted by Memorial Healthcare System. Our programs are diverse ranging from Health Fairs to Child Abuse Prevention Programs to Speakers Bureau. With employee participation, Memorial Healthcare System will continue to host many signature events to meet the ever growing needs of South Broward.
Over the years as a community leader, Memorial Healthcare System has formed many partnerships with agencies beyond our hospital walls. Our employee volunteers’ efforts contribute to the success of many important community projects, including Tour de Broward, Souper Bowl, Women in Distress DIY Day, Ann Storck Makeover Project, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Grand Opening Block Party, KISS Cares for Kids Radiothon, “Adopt” a Child for Back-to-School and the Holidays, Family Resource Day for Children with Special Needs, Taste of the Nation, Back-to-School Health Fairs, Primary Care Center Holiday Party and the Toys in the Sun Run.
